Research Base of Enerstena UAB
Enerstena UAB launched its research and development project under the programme ‘Intellect, Joint Research – Business Projects’, smart specialisation area ‘Energy and Sustainable Environment’ on 1 April 2017. The title of the project is ‘Research and Development of Technologies for Increasing the Efficiency of Biofuel Use and for Pollution Control’, the value of the project is EUR 2.3 million. The project is financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Project partners: Kaunas University of Technology and the Lithuanian Energy Institute. The project will be completed by 31 March 2020.
The project has to objectives: establish a research base at Enerstena UAB and develop 9 new products.
The area of the research base is approx. 450 sq. m. The premises have been grouped into the area of researchers’ workplaces; the area of test stands; and the test boiler house with test equipment for experiments.
There are three test stands: for investigations into biofuel combustion, for investigations into regasification processes, and for investigations into heat and mass exchanges in two-phase processes.
