International cooperation
- Lithuania is a member of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future and serves as a center of excellence and a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge on renewable energy;
- In 2015 Lithuania reached its national renewable energy target for 2020 and on October 2017 Lithuania and Luxembourg signed a cooperation agreement on the statistical transfer of renewable energy amounts for the first time ever in the EU, agreement helps Luxembourg achieve its national renewable energy target for 2020.
- Lithuania aims to further develop renewable energy in its economy and is getting ready to deliver a new support model for renewable electricity which shall create opportunities for other Member States to participate as well.
