Support allocation mechanism is regulated under the Law on Renewable Energy and the process is coordinated by the National Energy Regulatory Council.
The goal is to increase renewable electricity production up to at least 5 TWhby year 2025, and respectively decrease the electricity imports.
The support payments are administrated by the dedicated company Balt Pool.
First auction will be announced on the 2nd of September 2019.
Premiums paid to the producers will depend on the electricity market prices and could not be higher than the set maximum price.
The producer, who will offer the lowest premium will be selected in the auction and supported for the period of 12 years.
Auctions are organized by rules and methodologies approved by the National Energy Regulatory Council.
