On December 15 the Ministry of Energy held a meeting of the Committee of Senior Energy Officials of the Baltic Council of Ministers (BCM) to address the development of a regional gas market and further cooperation in ensuring the synchronisation of the power systems of the Baltic States with the networks of Continental Europe.

Today, December 14, the heads of Lithuania and neighbouring countries took part in a ceremony to mark the symbolic connection of power interconnections LitPol Link and NordBalt. The two power interconnections are the biggest investment in the Lithuanian energy system since Lithuania regained its independence.

Today, 23 November the Lithuanian Minister of Energy Rokas Masiulis participated in the 1st Lithuanian - Netherlands liquefied natural gas (LNG) forum. In the opening speech R. Masiulis emphasised a possibility to take advantage of Netherlands experience for the LNG business development in Lithuania and the Baltic region.

On 11 November at European Parliament, Brussels in the forum ‘LNG terminals – game changers for regional energy security’ hosted by MEP Antanas Guoga once again was emphasized the importance of implementation of Lithuanian LNG terminal as an object which ensures energy security for Lithuania and other Baltic States.
